why arabic literature lacks epic poetry

abstract

epic poetry is a sort of ancient literature which exists in most of the world's literatures such as roman, greek, indian and iranian; but arabic literature has not used this type of literature. major reasons for this are as follows: 1. lack of nationalistic sense 2. arabic poetry is mostly based on vocality 3. there haven't been real long term wars between arabs 4. arabic poetry has had mostly one type of rhyme and rhythm and thus has not been able to adapt itself with epic poetry
